An Initiative Supporting African Integration

Africa is a continent rich in resources, talent, and opportunities. Yet, intra-African trade remains limited, slowing the continent’s growth and shared prosperity.
To address this challenge, THE NIL was created as a pan-African initiative with a clear mission: to structure and boost intra-African trade.
🎯 Our Vision
We aim to build an economically integrated Africa where goods, services, and capital flow freely, in line with the objectives of the AfCFTA (African Continental Free Trade Area).
🛠️ Our Core Missions
- Establish a network of strategic depots in major African ports.
- Set up processing and packaging units to add value to local products.
- Connect farmers, livestock breeders, fishers, artisans, manufacturers, and distributors through a single platform.
- Provide logistics and trans-African transport solutions to reduce geographical and operational barriers.
🌐 An Integrated Approach
THE NIL positions itself as an innovative pan-African platform, linking economic actors across all 54 African countries.
Our approach aims to:
- Reduce logistical and financial barriers,
- Strengthen the competitiveness of African products,
- Promote local processing before export,
- Create value-added jobs and sustainable economic growth.
💡 Our Strengths
- An integrated vision covering agriculture, livestock, fisheries, handicrafts, industry, trade, and distribution.
- A progressive 2025–2030 strategy for continental deployment.
- Alignment with the priorities of the African Development Bank (AfDB), which finances and supports economic development projects across Africa, and Afreximbank (African Export-Import Bank), the continental bank specializing in trade finance and facilitation.
🚀 Our Ambition
THE NIL aspires to become a catalyst for African economic integration. By building bridges between producers, markets, and institutions, we aim to contribute to a stronger, more competitive, and forward-looking African market.
